Thaco approved to expand auto mechanical park in Quang Nam

Thaco has received approval from the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee to invest in and expand the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Auto Mechanical Industrial Park.

The project, developed by Chu Lai Truong Hai Industrial and Urban Infrastructure Investment Co., Ltd - a Thaco subsidiary — will span nearly 115 hectares in Tam Hiep commune, Nui Thanh district, within the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone. Total investment is estimated at VND 1,434 billion, with Thaco contributing 20% (VND 286 billion).

Quang Nam currently hosts 13 industrial parks covering over 3,310 hectares, 10 of which are in the Chu Lai zone. By 2030, the province plans to allocate more than 10,165 hectares for 20 industrial parks.

Thaco began its operations in Chu Lai in 2003 with an auto manufacturing plant. Today, the Thaco Chu Lai complex covers over 1,200 hectares, consisting of four zones: auto mechanical industry, agro-forestry industry, port and logistics, and residential and resettlement areas.

The Chu Lai – Truong Hai Auto Mechanical Industrial Park was first developed in 2008 on 243 hectares. In October 2021, Thaco proposed a 115-hectare expansion, bringing the total area to 358 hectares to attract more auto, construction mechanical, and supporting industries.
