Technology transfer to grow and process Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs

(QNO) - An agreement on reseach cooperation and techonology transfer to grow and process Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs in the period 2018 – 2025 was signed by the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee (QPC) and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) in Tam Ky city on June 15. Vice Chairman of the QPC Le Tri Thanh and Vice Chairman of the VCA Le Van Nghi co-presided this ceremony.

Overview of the event.

Accordingly, the QPC and the VCA will establish some cooperatives to grow and process Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal plants in Nam Tra Mi district (Quang Nam province). The Nam Tra Mi center for Ngoc Linh ginseng will be upgraded to clone and cultivate this kind of ginseng and other kinds of medicinal herbs.

The ginseng reseach cooperation (with extract technology)  aims to produce hi-level products such as pharmaceutical products and cosmetics. Equipment will be invested to test and identify the quality of ginseng roots. The conservation and development of Ngoc Linh ginseng by applying science and technology contributes to the growth of ginseng industry in Quang Nam, making it a center for medicinal plants of the country.
