“Tam Ky Sua flower season” festival 2024

The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by Quang Nam provincial Party Committee Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of the Quang Nam People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu, local residents, and visitors.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Tam Ky city People's Committee Tran Trung Hau emphasized that, the “Tam Ky - Sua flower season” festival 2024 taking place with various cultural, sports and tourism activities would provide attractive and unforgettable experiences, beautiful images and feelings for those who come to Huong Tra village on these days.

The festival is part of activities in response to the “National Biodiversity Restoration Year - Quang Nam 2024”; building Tam Ky city into an attractive tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists, fostering connections with neighboring areas to establish it as the southern tourism hub of the province.

Earlier, a population of nine Sua trees in Huong Tra village was awarded a certificate of recognition as Vietnam Heritage Tree by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment.

Sua tree, known by the scientific name: Pterocarpus indicus, is in full bloom in April for about two weeks. The flowers bathe Huong Tra ecological village in yellow in addition to their gentle and seductive fragrance at this time.
