(QNO) - On February 18, a delegation of ambassadors and heads of Swiss development cooperation representatives to Southeast Asian countries visited the Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development Project (ST4SD) of Vietnam in Hoi An city (Quang Nam province).
The visit was attended by the Swiss Ambassadors to Vietnam, Bangkok (Thailand), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore, Manila (Philippines), Jakarta (Indonesia)... and a number of leaders of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.
In Cam Ha commune (Hoi An city), the delegates enjoyed local dishes, participated in cooking experiences, and listened to an introduction to the activities of the ST4SD of Vietnam in Hoi An.
The delegates also visited Tra Que vegetable village - the best tourist village in 2024 voted by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) to learn about the history, culture as well as organic farming techniques with indigenous farming methods.
On this occasion, the delegation visited a Kumquat Garden under the ST4SD to learn about the process of converting agriculture to sustainable agricultural tourism, connecting with the local tourism product chain, and supporting the empowerment of female entrepreneurs.
