(QNO) - A forum on sharing corporate social responsibility of South Korean enterprises has recently been held in Danang city.
Present at the event was Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh.
South Korea is the biggest foreign investors with a total registered capital of over USD 860 million from 58 FDI projects in Quang Nam.
Most of them are successful, providing jobs for the locals, creating a driving force to attract investment in the province.
The South Korean enterprises not only contributes to the provincial economic growth, improving the quality of employees’ life but also lay the foundation for common development between businesses and local communities through corporate social responsibility activities, such as improving living infrastructure and medical services, and providing financial support for disadvantaged people in the society.
Giving a speech at the event, Kang Boosung - Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Danang city said that the Vietnam -South Korea relations have been developing rapidly in all fields since the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 1992.
South Korea is the largest foreign investor in Vietnam. Approximately 8,000 South Korean enterprises were operating in Vietnam by the end of 2022.
Trade turnover between two countries increased from USD500 million in 1992 to USD81.1 billion in 2022. The two countries have now become each other’s third largest trading partners.
Kang Boosung also highly appreciated the local government’s interest in South Korean enterprises. It is considered as an important factor to support South Korean enterprises to do their social responsibility activities well.
Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh said that the province appreciates the contributions of South Korean enterprises and their social responsibility activities to the local socio-economic development.
Quang Nam is always facilitating South Korean investment and operation in the province.
