At the conference, Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee Dinh Van Thu said Quang Nam coastline is more than 125km long, including the beautiful Hoi An beach for tourism development. However, the erosion at Hoi An city’s Cua Dai beach has been very serious over recent years without any effective solutions.

The experts proposed some solutions to anti-erosion at Hoi An beach such as: prohibiting sand exploitation in Thu Bon riverside, preventing the lower course from pollutants from the upper course, building wall to stop waves, consolidating sand at Cua Dai beach… According to French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary, the Government of France decided to invest and support to find out the accurate causes and anti-erosion solutions at Hoi An beach. At the same time, they will also build a system of mangrove forest for sustainable beach protection.
