After 2 years of construction, in February 2018, the solar power system in Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) will be put into operation to serve cultural and tourism activities with the sound and lighting system in the ancient town. This project- “Building a solar power supply system to operate sound and lighting system in Hoi An town” starting in 2016- was funded by the German Government with a total investment of € 170,9340.
Hoi An will operate the solar power system funded by the Government of Germany in February, 2018 |
The system of solar panels installed at the Hoai River Square creates the corresponding power of 51 KW/h, which serves street art performances, traditional games, folk and choral music classes, sound system, decorative lanterns, lights on Japanese bridge, symbols, roads and cultural festivals ... The excess energy will be integrated into the automatic accumulator system to use at night or in bad weather, in monuments, working houses in the area.
The success of the project not only boots the cooperative relationship between Hoi An City and Wernigerode Town – German but also creates and encourages the locals’ habit of using renewable energy (solar, water, wind…) to limit climate change and develop stable tourism in Hoi An.
