(QNO) - The opening ceremony of the 7th Vietnam International Choir Competition was held in Hoi An city of Quang Nam province on the evening of April 2, 2023.

The Vietnam International Choir Competition - Hoi An 2023, which is jointly organised by Hoi An city People’s Committee and Interkultur - one of the world’s leading organisers of choir festivals from Germany, welcomes nearly 600 artists of 18 choirs from seven countries and territories (including India, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Slovakia, and Vietnam).
Johan Rooze - Interkultur artistic director said he is very proud of the Vietnam Choir Competition because it has always been a successful event since its start in 2011.
Furthermore, the organisers felt happy to witness choral music lovers getting together to sing, dance, and exchange musical knowledge without masks and without the fear of Covid-19.
Also according to Johan Rooze, Hoi An is a charming and poetic city.
It is surely one of the most beautiful places in Asia for singing together and musical exchange.
Everyone will have unforgettable experiences during the next few days in Hoi An, especially in the evening when the city is filled by thousands of lanterns and lights.
Johan Rooze also suggested the lovers of festivals in Hoi An and this choir competition introducing the event globally so that everyone can see the awaking of global choir and sing together like never before.
Some activities accompanied by the event were the performance art named Hoi An - Colours of Silk, the reappearance of Hoi An night in the early 20th century, exhibition of OCOP products, display of ornamental animals, etc.

The 7th Vietnam International Choir Competition - Hoi An 2023 will last until April 5.
