Lao traditional New Year Bunpimay at Quang Nam University

(QNO) - Over 140 Lao students took part in the Bunpimay traditional New Year program held by Quang Nam University on the morning of April 13.

Present at the event were representatives of the Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Danang city Lienseng Phengavath and of Quang Nam provincial departments and services.

The event started with the water splashing ritual which expresses the wishes against sorrow and for peacefulness, happiness and prosperity in the new year.

Next, it was the peacefulness - praying and thread - tying, a traditional ritual in Lao culture.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Trong Duong, rector of Quang Nam University joined in the event and sent the best wishes to Lao students.

At the same time, he wanted Lao students to try their best to study in order to have the best study results, to get as much knowledge and skills as possible to contribute to their nation in the future.
