Japanese Crown Prince and Princess visit My Son Sanctuary

(QNO) - Japanese Crown Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko have visited My Son Sanctuary (Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province) today (September 24).

Crown Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko are on the way to tower groups.

They are briefly introduced to My Son Sanctuary, the procedures and processes of restoration, upgrading, and preservation of the heritage.

Crown Prince Akishino pays much attention to the patterns on the ancient towers. He has learned about My Son Sanctuary before he goes there; however, he feels much more interested in directly watching it.

There is currently a museum for My Son World Cultural Heritage where artefacts discovered and excavated in My Son are displayed. It is funded by the Government of Japan.

My Son World Cultural Heritage is the most famous architectural complex of the Cham people in Vietnam.

My Son Sanctuary was officially recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage in 1999.
