(QNO) - Quang Nam is promoting the establishment of the Quang Nam - US Industrial Park, which will give priority to the semiconductor industry and digital economic sectors.
At the Vietnam - US Trade Forum: Opportunities for Vietnamese Businesses taking place in Da Nang city on November 10, 2023, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu said that the US is currently one of the major trading partners and the largest export market of Quang Nam.
Reportedly, in the first 10 months of 2023, Quang Nam’s export values to the US reached USD 438.45 million.
The key products were garments, leather shoes, wooden products, electronic equipment, light bulbs, electronic chips, fibres, camping tents, sofa covers, semi-trailers, mechanical products and equipment, auto parts and accessories, etc.
However, US FDI in Quang Nam is rather limited, with just 7/194 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in Quang Nam with a total registered capital of USD 5.86 million.
Investment promotion in the establishment of the Quang Nam - US Industrial Park
According to Deputy Chairman Ho Quang Buu, Quang Nam has much potential and space for FDI flows from the US. It is expected that there will be more and more US FDI projects in Quang Nam in the coming time, especially in the fields of high technology, renewable energy, new power, infrastructure development, financial centres, research and development activities, modern trade and services, aviation industry, green industry, etc. They are known as the strength of the US.
