(QNO) - The opening ceremony of the 20th Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival in Quang Nam mountainous areas took place in Phuoc Son district on the evening of August 17, 2023.
Present at the event were Standing member of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council Luong Van Duc, leaders and representatives of the People’s Committee, services, agencies, and 9 mountainous districts of Quang Nam province.
According to Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu, the festival is a good opportunity to introduce and promote unique local cultural values of the ethnic minorities in 9 mountainous districts; thereby, contributing to preserving their traditional cultural identities, strengthening national solidarity, motivating local tourism development, and promoting socio-economic growth.
Participating in the festival, visitors have the chance to experience local tourism products, enjoy local traditional dishes, and play folk games.
According to Chairman of the Phuoc Son district’s People’s Committee Le Quang Trung, the festival is a great chance for ethnic minorities in the mountainous areas of Quang Nam province to make cultural exchanges and take part in talent contests.
The opening ceremony of the event was really special and impressive with a performance art programme named ‘Cultural Colours in Western Quang Nam - Aspiration for Development’.
Besides sports and cultural activities held at the festival, there will be a photo exhibition and a display of local OCOP products.
At the same time, a famtrip and a seminar on mountainous tourism development are also organised.
The festival will last until August 21, 2023.
