A dialogue on responsible and sustainable response of small and medium enterprises in the context of global health crisis has just been jointly held by the Quang Nam Tourism Association, the International Labor Organization (ILO) and NIRF/Japan Project. Nearly 50 accommodation businesses in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province attended the event.
The event aimed to share the experience that small and medium enterprises have to overcome the health crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic, especially the experience international businesses have got to handle the crisis and keep on running, typically in labor resource management.
Currently, about 80% of tourism businesses in Quang Nam province are closed. About 18,000 workers in the tourism industry are unemployed. Therefore, local businesses have to change, especially the quality of human resources, to be ready for welcoming guests again.
