(QNO) - On the occasion of welcoming New Year 2018 in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, a programme to receive the 2.8 millionth international tourist was formally organized by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Hoi An city People’s Committee on December 31.

This lucky visitor was Mr. Eisaku Sasaki from Japan. He said he was very happy and surprised to be the 2.8 millionth international tourist to Quang Nam. This was the first time he came to Hoi An ancient town and he was impressed by this beautiful and peaceful city. He thanked this programme.

The programme aimed to introduce the images and people of Vietnam in general and Quang Nam province in particular to international and domestic tourists. Hoi An has just been selected as among top 25 best destinations in the world by Tripadvisor and top world small towns must be visited by Business.
Reportedly, Quang Nam province received 5.35 million visitors including 2.8 million international tourists in 2017, a rise of more than 13% compared to 2016.
