Quang Nam welcomes investors

(QNO) - Speaking at the Vietnam Business Summit, a part of the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 organized in Vietnam’s Da Nang city, Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee Dinh Van Thu affirmed the local plentiful development potentials. The province is changing to serve and accompany with businesses in the locality.

Quang Nam is of Central Vietnam with its advantageous geographic location and a population of 1.5 million people. The province has a diversified culture and abundant tourism with two UNESCO’s World Heritages of Hoi An ancient town and My Son Sanctuary,  Cham Islands World Biosphere Reserve, beautiful and neglected beaches, communal and eco-destinations. Over recent years, the province has had breakthroughs in economic development with its GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) increasing an average of 11.5% per year, the density of industry, trade and services accounting for more than 84% of GRDP. Quang Nam annually welcomes around 4 million tourists including 2 million international ones.  

Chairman Thu remarked the province has attracted many projects in field of urban-tourism complex such as Groups of Chau Tai Phat, Vina Capital, Vingroup, Sungroup, T&T, contributing to Quang Nam province’s sustainable development and making it become one of the national and regional tourism hubs. In the coming time, Quang Nam will focus on industry and services, of which tourism becomes the spearhead economic sector. The province expects to receive 8 million vistors by 2020, up to 12-14 million arrivals by 2025. To achieve these goals, Quang Nam will invest into infrastructure, attract investment into sea and islands, mountainous and ethnic regions, reform administrative procedures, improve investment climate, train human resources for tourism, do better in conservation and promotion of cultural values and build healthy cultural environment. It aims to develop tourism towards environmentally-friendly, sustainable and green growth. At the same time, tourism propagation and promotion to introduce Quang Nam images to international and domestic friends will be speeded up.
