(QNO) - The Hoi An Gala Evening "Happy New Year 2017" took place at An Hoi Sculpture Garden on the evening of December 31, 2016. At the same time, Quang Nam provine also welcomed the 23 millionth international visitor in 2016. Present at the event was Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Nam people’s committee Huynh Khanh Toan.

It was a really interesting and vibrant Gala Evening with many unique musical performances by the Hoianian young bands, New Year’s Eve count-down, praying for a peaceful world and lots of interesting games (music quiz, lucky lottery…)

The 2.3 millionth international visitor to Quang Nam in 2016 was Ms. Wisal Sleibi, an Israeli citizen. She was accidentally selected among 17 members of the international delegation to Hoi An guided by Hung Anh travel company (Hanoi).

Reportedly, Hoi An city received over 2.6 million visitors in 2016, up nearly 18% compared to 2015; international visitors to this city increased 26%.
