Quang Nam: Turn the coastal area into an industrial, urban and tourist center

(QNO) - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Phung Quoc Hien has recently had a working session with Quang Nam’s leaders. Its contents focused on the provincial socioeconomic development in the period of 2015-2020.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Thu stated the Quang Nam’s successive socioeconomic development from 2016 to 2018.

In terms of marine economic and industrial development, there are 7 industrial parks and 185 projects with a total registered capital of USD 1,605 million and VND 3,721 billion. 20 out of 31 industrial clusters in the coastal area have come into operation, creating jobs for nearly 70 thousand people.

As a province with 125km of coastal line, Quang Nam has advantages and potential for marine tourism development. Therefore, its orientation is a variety of tourism products from the sea. Chu Lai will be the core and make a multi-sector marine economic zone, the center for the development of all the provincial coastal area. It is determined that marine economy will play the key role in the local economic development in association with national defense and security by 2030.

At the same time, Quang Nam wishes to receive the support from the Government of Vietnam soon so that the plan for the economic development in the local coastal area will soon be done.

In reply, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Phung Quoc Hien highly appreciated Quang Nam’s socioeconomic development. He promised to submit Quang Nam’s plan to the Government of Vietnam in order to have timely and suitable solutions and assistances to the local development. He didn’t forget to remind Quang Nam about the environmental protection accompanied with economic development.
