(QNO) - On the evening of August 28th, the opening ceremony of the Quang Nam Traditional Crafts Festival 2024, themed Quang Nam Traditional Craft Products - Elevating and Integrating, took place at 24/3 Square (Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province).
Present at the opening ceremony were Quang Nam leaders, delegates, and the provinvial masses and travellers.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu stated that the Quang Nam Traditional Crafts Festival 2024 is a significant cultural and economic event.
It celebrates the beauty and creativity of traditional crafts, showcasing Quang Nam's culture by recreating craft villages along the Thu Bon river.
The festival is a place for local and international artisans, artists, and researchers to exchange information and knowledge about traditional crafts preservation and promotion.
It also provides opportunities for boosting local trade, tourism, and economic development. At the same time, the event contributes to confirming Quang Nam as an exciting destination.
The festival also contributes to environmental protection, landscape preservation, and cultural promotion.
It is also an opportunity to promote and advance traditional handicrafts, OCOP products, and rural industrial products, turning them into marketable goods and expanding their market reach.
The Quang Nam Traditional Crafts Festival 2024 includes several highlighted events, such as a seminar on solutions for traditional craft preservation and development in the era of integration, a performance art programme on crafts, a memorial for the founders of crafts and an honouring of skilled artisans, and a trade connection conference between OCOP product suppliers, craft producers, and export businesses.
The festival will run until the end of August 31st.
