(QNO) - Quang Nam province, one of the localities in Vietnam, attracts the highest number of international visitors. The province aims to become an international tourist center.
Over the past 10 years, Quang Nam has grown to become a major international tourist attraction in the country.
In 2019, Quang Nam received more than 4.6 million international tourist arrivals (only behind Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Quang Ninh).
Hoi An is also a rare locality in Vietnam that welcomes a higher number of international tourists than domestic tourists.
According to Quang Nam’s master plan, the province will attract 10 million international tourist arrivals by 2030.
The plan also includes efforts to recover and maintain Quang Nam's traditional tourism markets, especially from Western Europe, Northern Europe, and North America.
The night economy is also considered the "key" to fostering the growth of international tourism.
Last year, Hoi An was one of 12 nationwide destinations chosen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vietnam to develop models of night tourism.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam, the provincial master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 focuses on calling for investment in building complexes of entertainment - shopping - culinary associated with the night economy in key areas for tourism development, especially Hoi An city.
Hoi An is not only a key tourist attraction of Quang Nam but also of the entire Central Coast region as well as the whole country.
In Southern Quang Nam, high-end services will also be developed targeting the market of tourists wishing to experience cultural and natural heritage and long-term and high-spending vacations, notably in coastal areas.
Quang Nam has a diverse transport system, including Chu Lai airport, Ky Ha port, and Nam Giang international border gate to welcome international visitors.
It is said that more than 80% of international visitors come to Vietnam by air, while the cruise tourism market is accelerating strongly.
