(QNO) - Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh has just received Han Kuo Yao - Director General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the meeting, Mr. Han Kuo Yao thanked for Quang Nam leader’s warmly welcome. He hoped to continue to closely cooperate with Quang Nam in the fields of economy, culture - society, trade - tourism.
The TECO in Ho Chi Minh City is the consular representative office of Taiwan (China) in Southern Vietnam to support and promote exchanges and cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Taiwan.
Currently, Quang Nam has attracted 15 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects from Taiwan with a total investment of more than 92 million USD. Taiwan has 4 airlines to Vietnam, thereby contributing to increasing the number of tourists to Quang Nam in the past time.
At the same time, Mr. Han Kuo Yao thanked Quang Nam authorities for creating favorable conditions for the cooperation between Taiwan and Quang Nam, especially supporting Taiwanese businesses with visa, work permit.
In reply, Chairman Thanh thanked Mr. Han Kuo Yao for the visit. He also talked about the Quang Nam’s potential and strengths to the Taiwanese businesses.
Chairman Thanh said Quang Nam hoped the TECO in Ho Chi Minh City to be a bridge between Quang Nam and Taiwanese investors, especially in the fields of supporting industry, mechanical engineering, agricultural processing, hi-tech agriculture, health care, education and tourism.
