(QNO) - Thanh was born and grown up in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province - the land of extraordinary people, fond of learning, patriotic and human gratitude tradition.

Being grown up in the love of family and beside the honest and hospitable people, since the childhood, Thanh has dreamed of becoming a successful businessman to bring the happiness to every people, family and country. Due to this thinking, he tried to study for making his dream come true.
“The best working out, the best crop in”, in 1978, after finishing high school in Tam Ky, he entered the Ho Chi Minh city University of Agriculture and Forestry. After five years, he graduated BS degree in Forestry engineering in 1983 and worked for the Department of Forestry of HCMC, then for Sai Gon Fiberboard Enterprise (the former name of Saigon Plywood Enterprise) one year later.
Thanks to his determination, enduring effort and good knowledge, in 1995, La Trong Thanh was appointed Assistant chief of Economic and Technical section of The of Agri - Forestry and Seafood Products Export-Import Company (AGRIMAX) in HCMC.

Taking the opportunity and basing on his experiences, in 2000, Thanh again changed the working environment. He founded Trong Thanh Company, Ltd., specializing in producing and selling barked, sawn timber and plywood.
Thanks on his experiences and customers’ trust who he had cooperated before, his products were not only consumed in domestic market but also exported to some foreign countries. A period later, however, La Trong Thanh realized that there were so many difficulties and risks in export trade, he changed to another business orientation.

Thanh cooperated with other foreign enterprises doing business in Vietnam to develop the new trading way: his company carried out the first producing stages only, all perfect products would be exported by the foreign enterprises. However, in order to share the risks and improve the capacity of cooperation with foreign partners, Thanh cooperated with forest employers to implement simultaneously the forest planting projects and timber processing and production .
Thanh not only concerns about the desire of his staff and workers, but also encourages and helps them to overcome difficulties in daily life. In case his counterparts lack of capital for production as and planting forest, he is willing to support and take responsibility for selling their products because of his thinking “It is no use preaching to a hungry man”. These things are the priceless motivation to increase the strength and belief for Trong Thanh Company, Ltd. and affirming its position more and more in the age of integration and on the way of overcoming new challenges.

It is the concept “living means to share” prodded him to connect the Quang Nam people living far from their homeland into a common home, called them for helping the poor and making contribution for the homeland’s growth. He was voted chief of the Organizing sector of the Tam Ky Fellow-countrymen Association (FCA) in HCMC from 1996 to 2011. Thanh is now Vice president of Tam Ky FCA and a Permanent member of Committee Board of Quang Nam province FCA in HCMC. He is also Vice president of Tran Cao Van high school Former Students Association in HCMC, President of Forestry College and HCMC University of Agriculture and Forest Former Students Association.
Thanh’s biggest desire in the present time is that the Quang Nam people living across the country and abroad as well should help the homeland people more and more to bring them a happy and good life.
