(QNO) - Prolonged heavy rain made Southern provinces of Laos suffer from flood and serious losses of lives and property. On behalf of Quang Nam leaders, Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Vo Xuan Ca has visited Laos’ Sekong and Champasak, giving them VND 400 million and VND 200 million respectively, helping them partly to overcome the damage after flood.
On behalf of the Sekong and Champasak provincial leaders and people, Deputy Governors Thavon Phommalaylun and Bualin Vongphachanh respectively thanked Quang Nam for the help. It reflected the special solidarity relationship between Quang Nam and Laos’ provinces.
At the same time, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People's Council made a call phone to leaders of Sekong, Champasak, Attapu and Salavan provinces, showing his concern about the flood situation in the Southern provinces of Laos, especially the bordering province Sekong. He also expressed his sadness about the flood and wished the Southern provinces of Laos to overcome difficulties and consequences of natural disasters quickly.
