A workshop was organized by the Red Cross Association of Quang Nam province on December 29 to start the “Humanitarian aid and post-flood recovery in Central Viet Nam” project.
The project is funded by the Dutch Relief Alliance under the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs via Oxfam in Vietnam.
Accordingly, 5,000 households severely suffering from natural disasters in 5 communes of Tra Bui, Tra Duong, Tra Dong, Tra Son, Tra Giang (Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province) will be supported with a total value of more than 5.5 billion VND (238,000 USD). The project will finish in May 2021.
President of the Quang Nam Red Cross Le Tan Minh promised to manage, use and allocate the aid for fit people.
The project will provide 916 gift packages, worth 1.2 million VND each, plastic buckets, and hygienic tools for households, promoting communications on COVID-19 prevention and control as well as hygiene and clean water in communes.
It will also include assessments of livelihoods and market, training in planting and breeding for residents.
Also on December 29, the Red Cross Association of Quang Nam province kicked off the Home Maintenance Project funded by World Vision.
The project will support nearly 4 billion VND to repair the houses of 400 households affected by storms and floods Nong Son, Phuoc Son and Nam Tra My.
