(QNO) - In 2024, Quang Nam province received 62 aid packages from foreign non-govermental organizations (NGOs), with a total committed funding of over VND 167 billion (approximately USD 6.7 million, an increase of USD 1.5 million compared to 2023).
Foreign NGOs and individuals have carried out aid activities in Quang Nam, primarily in education, healthcare, agriculture, climate change, environment, social welfare, and emergency relief.
According to the Quang Nam People's Committee, in 2024, Quang Nam proposed the Committee for Foreign NGO Affairs approve the extension, amendment, supplementation, and transfer of registration for nine NGOs, expanded operations for six, terminated activities for four, and rejected registration for one.
Currently, 46 NGOs are registered, active, and operating in the province, with most donors originating from the U.S., Australia, South Korea, Japan, the U.K., and France.
The Provincial People's Committee also authorized and closely managed 281 delegations, comprising 2,050 visits by donors and project staff conducting humanitarian activities in the province in 2024, ensuring compliance with regulations.
