(QNO) - The Quang Nam provincial Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports coordinated with its counterparts in the neighbouring provinces of Thua Thien-Hue province and Da Nang city to organize a joint tourism promotion programme in Taipei, Taiwan (China), with the theme “Amazing Central Viet Nam Heritage” on June 21.
The programme saw the participation of representatives of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, the Taipei Association of Travel Agents, travel companies from Quang Nam, Da Nang, Thua Thien - Hue and travel and press agencies in Taiwan.
Among Quang Nam representatives are from 10 travel companies, including Hoiana Resort & Golf, Hoi An Memories Land, Almanity Hoi An Resort & Spa, Citadines Pearl Hoi An, Hoian Central Boutique Hotel & Spa, Bliss Hoi An Beach Resort & Wellness, Wyndham Hoi An Royal Beachfront Resort & Villas, Grand Sunrise Palace Hoi An, Peony Edu Travel, and Duy Nhat Indochina Travel Company Limited.
There were a series of activities at the programme, such as the introduction of destinations, information and new tourism products, a tourism stimulus programme of green heritage land, festivals in Quang Nam, Da Nang, and Thua Thien-Hue, especially with a focus on the in-depth promotion of products suitable to the tastes of Taiwanese (Chinese) tourists.
The programme also included the space to show movies and images of the culture, tourism, and specialty products of these three Vietnamese localities.
In addition, a space for the B2B (business-to-business) was built to promote bilateral exchange of visitors between the parties.
The tourism promotion in Taiwan contributes to attracting and expanding the Northeast Asian tourist market in general and the Taiwanese tourist market in particular to Central Vietnam, including Quang Nam - a leading tourist destination in these regions and the world.
Quang Nam, Da Nang, Thua Thien-Hue are located on the Central heritage road which has many of UNESCO’s heritage sites.
The promotional program aims to build a sustainable cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese and Taiwanese tourism industries, opening up many new opportunities to attract Taiwanese tourists to the central region of Vietnam, a unique cultural, historical, and natural destination on the world’s tourism map.
Reportedly, in the first 5 months of 2024, Viet Nam welcomed nearly 530,000 visitors from Taiwan (China), an increase of 110.1 % from the same period last year, about 45% of whom went to tourist destinations in Central Viet Nam such as Hue, Hoi An (Quang Nam) and Da Nang.
The Taiwanese tourist market is always in the top 10 international tourist markets in Quang Nam. In the first 5 months of this year, Taiwanese visitors to Quang Nam were estimated to reach more than 131,000 arrivals, taking second place only after Korean visitors (more than 161,000 arrivals).
