(QNO) - Quang Nam Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet has just paid a working visit to Sekong province (Laos) on the occasion of the Bunpimay festival.
The visit on occasion of the Bunpimay festival has become usual between Quang Nam and Sekong.
At the reception for Quang Nam delegation, Lechlay Sivilay, Governor of Sekong province talked about the 40-year process of formation and development of Sekong province.
Lechlay Sivilay stated that Sekong has received so much help and support from former Quang Nam-Da Nang province and Quang Nam now during its 40-year development process, especially in healthcare, education, agriculture, and national security.
The support from Quang Nam has made a great contribution to Sekong Provincial infrastructure development and socioeconomic growth, thereby fostering solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
Quang Nam Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet thanked Sekong for their warm welcome. At the same time, he sent the best wishes to Sekong province for the Lao Bunpimay festival 2024.
Besides, Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet talked about Quang Nam’s socioeconomic achievements and mentioned some foreign affairs activities between the two provinces, Quang Nam and Sekong.
Luong Nguyen Minh Triet also highly appreciated the comprehensive cooperation between the two provinces in economic development, national defences, human resources, bilateral patrol activities according to border management agreements and decrees, and creating conditions for the development of the border areas.
The import and export activities through Dak Ta Ooc – Nam Giang border gates have recently developed. This shows an increase in the cooperative relationship between Quang Nam and Sekong.
Currently, both Quang Nam and Sekong are facing a lot of difficulties due to the impact of the global economic recession. However, Quang Nam still keeps on supporting Sekong for its stable development, and then the stable development of Quang Nam.
At the same time, Quang Nam will propose upgrading National Highway 14D, expanding the Nam Giang international border gate, and upgrading the Tay Giang - Kalum sub-border gate into the main border gate.
On this occasion, Quang Nam gave flowers and gifts to Sekong, among which are VND 1 billion to Sekong Province and VND 300 million to Sekong Ethnic Boarding School and Sekong Vocational School.
