(QNO) - The Quang Nam provincial competitive index (PCI) 2017 was 65.41, ranking 7th out of 63 provinces and cities in the country, following just Da Nang city among 12 central coastal provinces and cities.

According to Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee, the 4.24 point rise in the Quang Nam PCI showed the local efforts to deal with administrative procedures and improve the investment climate. Some among the sub-indices of the Quang Nam PCI were highly appreciated. They were of land access, transparency, labour training, proactivity… However, the provincial administrative procedures reform was not synchronous and irregular. So, it is necessary to master the importance of serving (but not controlling) in the public administration.

In this situation, Quang Nam has put forward some remedies for their shortcomings. They have made every effort to raise the PCI and maintain it in the top 10, focusing more on the sub-indices of land access, labour training, transparency, and especially proactivity.
In administrative reform, there are resolutions to raise its sub-index regularly. Besides, Quang Nam has invested in and deployed the electronic government project in all administrative divisions, helping synchronize the data system, contributing to bettering the provincial administrative procedure reform.
