(QNO) - On the morning of May 28, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee, accompanied by leaders of provincial departments and agencies, visited Tra Linh pharmaceutical station under the Quang Nam Centre for Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Development.
Reportedly, the Quang Nam Centre for Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Development is managing and looking after an over-50-hectare garden of about 262 thousand Ngoc Linh ginseng plants at the age of 2 or more.
The Ngoc Linh ginseng in this garden is purebred and used for the conservation and development of quality seedlings according to the province's policies and orientations.
Besides, the Quang Nam Centre for Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Development has recently acclimatised about 8000 Ngoc Linh ginseng seedlings to some other districts of Quang Nam Province, including Bac Tra My, Tay Giang, Nam Giang, Phuoc Son, Nui Thanh, and Tien Phuoc.
At the working session with the delegation of Quang Nam leaders, the staff of the Quang Nam Centre for Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Development suggested that there should be policies to strictly deal with planting fake Ngoc Linh ginsengs.
At the same time, it is necessary to improve the infrastructure for Ngoc Linh ginseng seedling production and preservation.
In response, Quang Nam Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet asked the Quang Nam Centre for Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Development to prioritise Ngoc Linh genetic resource protection. Simultaneously, the Centre for Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Development should put in place a financial autonomy structure to help its Tra Linh pharmaceutical station employees earn more money.
On this occasion, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet gave a gift to the Tra Linh pharmaceutical station.
