(QNO) - In honour of the 49th anniversary of Lao National Day ((December 2, 1975 - 2024), a delegation from Quang Nam province, headed by Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam People's Committee, paid a visit to the Lao Consulate General in Danang city on November 29.
On behalf of Quang Nam's leaders, Tran Anh Tuan sent greetings to Lao Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang. He also mentioned the strong and growing cooperation between Quang Nam and southern Laos' provinces, especially Sekong and Champasak.
Both parties regularly exchange high-level visits, strengthening cooperation in tourism, trade, and investment. Quang Nam also facilitates Lao students' annual study and research.
Deputy Chairman Tran Anh Tuan hoped that Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang would further support and strengthen cooperation between Quang Nam and southern Laos, especially in economic and trade development.
He also highlighted Quang Nam's plans to upgrade the Nam Giang Border Gate and its infrastructure, seeking the Consul General's assistance in encouraging Lao authorities to improve transportation and trade connectivity.
In response to Quang Nam's greetings on Laos' National Day, Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang sent his thanks to Quang Nam leaders.
He expressed his hope for continued strong cooperation between Quang Nam and southern Laos, as well as between Laos and Vietnam.
He also praised Quang Nam for training Lao students and called for more frequent exchanges to strengthen ties in economic, cultural, and social development.
