(QNO) - On the morning of November 22, at Hoiana Resort (Duy Xuyen), UN Tourism, in partnership with Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vietnam, announced plans to host its inaugural conference on tourism for rural development.
At the press conference, it was announced that the UN Tourism’s first Conference on Tourism for Rural Development is scheduled for December 10, 2024.
The conference is expected to attract around 300 delegates, including international representatives, national and local authorities from UN Tourism member countries and Vietnam, international organizations, the tourism community, and the private sector.
The conference will focus on three main topics: national and local policies to promote rural tourism development; engaging and empowering local communities in tourism development; and developing tourism products, fostering innovation, and improving market access for rural destinations.
In addition to the main conference, events scheduled from December 9-11 include the second annual meeting of UN Tourism’s Best-Tourism-Village network, a cultural and tourism exhibition, and tours discovering the province’s notable rural and cultural destinations.
