(QNO) - Quang Nam province has made positive steps for green tourism development for over 2 years.
Last year, Quang Nam province launched the green tourism development plan to 2025 and Quang Nam green tourism criteria. A Green Tourism Week to promote local tourism will be organized in September 2022.
Quang Nam has been supported to develop green tourism by non – governmental organisations such as The Swiss Sustainable Tourism Programme (SSTP) in Vietnam, UNESCO, Greenhub.
Quang Nam green tourism is based on 3 main pillars, people, environment and economic benefits.
According to a representative of Mr Tho Garden Villas (Cam Thanh commune, Hoi An city), local travel businesses try their best to develop green tourism because of its long-term benefits.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province said Quang Nam tried to become a national green tourism center, considered tourism as a local spearhead economic sector. So, Quang Nam needs supports from state agencies, investors and local communities.
