(QNO) - A delegation from Quang Nam, led by Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung, had a working visit to Cuba on October 12-16.
The working visit aimed to exchange experiences and explore opportunities for economic, trade, and investment cooperation.
At the meeting, the First Secretary of the Matanzas Provincial Party Committee, Mario Sabines Lorenzo, talked about strengthening ties between Cuban and Vietnamese localities. Nguyen Duc Dung highlighted cooperation potential in tourism, agriculture, industry, forestry, healthcare, and education.
The Quang Nam delegation met with Emilio Lozada Garcia, Head of the External Relations Department of the Communist Party of Cuba, who praised the visit for enhancing cooperation and reaffirmed the special brotherhood between Cuba and Vietnam.
Nguyen Duc Dung stated that the visit aimed to exchange experiences in party-building and promote trade and investment cooperation, aligning with the recent joint statement during To Lam’s state visit to Cuba.
The delegation also met with Cuban hero Fernando Gonzalez Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties and educating youth about the solidarity between Cuba and Vietnam.
Nguyen Duc Dung expressed gratitude for Cuba's support and affirmed Vietnam's continued solidarity. The delegation visited Nguyen Van Troi Primary School, the Vietnamese Embassy, and laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in Havana.
