(QNO) - On the afternoon of September 26, Secretary of the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, had a courtesy meeting with the high-level delegation from Champasak province (Laos), led by Alounxai Sounnalath, Party Secretary and Governor of Champasak.
At the meeting, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said it was a pleasure to welcome the high-level Champasak delegation, particularly Alounxai Sounnalath, to Quang Nam.
Quang Nam Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet expressed his admiration for the rapid development of Champasak, especially its bustling urban growth and economic potential. He hoped for new levels of development in Laos in the future.
At the same time, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet informed the Lao delegation of Quang Nam's efforts to ensure national defence and security for socio-economic development towards the 23rd Provincial Party Congress (2025-2030 term).
In the first half of 2024, Quang Nam's economy showed positive signs, providing momentum for the province to continue implementing solutions to meet its economic and social goals.
Quang Nam values the long-standing friendship with Champasak, highlighted by a 40-year partnership involving cooperative activities and exchange programs.
Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet expressed a desire to enhance collaboration in various areas, focusing on improving economic and tourism connectivity along the East-West Economic Corridor to promote development in both provinces.
In reply, Alounxai Sounnalath expressed his gratitude for Quang Nam's warm welcome. He hoped for more cooperation, especially in culture, education, and tourism.
He suggested establishing a project symbolising Quang Nam-Champasak friendship and encouraged more Quang Nam businesses to invest in Champasak, boosting tourism along the East-West Economic Corridor.
Earlier, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet received a high-level delegation from Sekong (Laos) to Quang Nam.
