(QNO) - A US delegation of officials and businesses from the state of California led by Mayor of Oakland city Sheng Thao has just had a working visit to Thaco - Chu Lai Industrial Park (Quang Nam province, Vietnam). Quang Nam leaders received the delegation.
The visit aimed to look for the cooperation opportunities with localities in Quang Nam, Vietnamese partners and calling for investment from Vietnam to Oakland city, Gulf region (San Francisco) and California in the coming time.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu briefly informed his guests of local potential, advantages, and preferential fields for investment, especially high-tech industries, deep processing of natural medicinal products (including Ngoc Linh ginseng), forest carbon credits, the development of sustainable forest economies, and of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, Thaco Industrial Park in Chu Lai and Truong Hai Group.
In addition, Vice Chairman Buu said the Quang Nam authority committed to supporting and creating all favourable conditions for US investors to invest in the province, contributing to the relationship and economic development of the two countries, two localities, and the two sides’ business communities.
According to Mr. Pham Van Tai, General Director of Thaco Group, Thaco has become a multi-industry corporation, participating in the global value chain, especially for mechanical engineering and supporting industries. Thaco Group is ready to cooperate with US enterprises, domestic and foreign ones.
At the meeting, Oakland’s Mayor Sheng Thao talked about the large and strong Vietnamese community in the city.
She said Oakland hoped to cooperate with Quang Nam in the development of ports, clean and green energy, two-way export and import cooperation, and climate change.
Also at this meeting, two Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) were signed to establish cooperative relations between Thaco Industries and the Port of Oakland and Thaco Industries and California Waste Solutions Company.
