(QNO) - The number of visitors to Quang Nam during Vietnam's Nation Day increased significantly compared to the same period last year due to a surge in domestic tourism.
According to statistics from the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the province received around 193,000 visitors during Vietnam's Nation Day (an increase of approximately 16% compared to the same period in 2023).
High-end accommodations saw impressive bookings, with occupancy rates of 80-90%. The Dong Giang Heaven Gate Ecotourism Area was fully booked on September 2nd and reached about 95% on September 3rd.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Quang Nam, the decrease in international visitors is due to a high influx before the National Day. In contrast, domestic tourists, particularly in Hoi An, were very numerous during the National Day.
Hoi An saw a strong rise in domestic visitors during the National Day holidays.
My Son Sanctuary, usually favored by international tourists, saw nearly 1,000 Vietnamese visitors (20% of total visitors) during the Nation Day holidays.
A notable highlight of Quang Nam tourism during this year's National Day holiday is that many accommodation establishments and entertainment destinations are decorated with national flags on their balconies and areas with the theme of the National Day holiday to respond to the nation's Independence Day, and at the same time spread more inspiration during tourists' travel.
According to the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the province will soon launch a tourism stimulus program called "Quang's Golden Season" featuring many unique products to boost tourism, particularly for domestic visitors, during the low season.
