(QNO) - Quang Nam tourism has recently been turned into green tourism.
Eco-tourism has been encouraged in Vietnam since 2014 in order to create jobs, raise the locals’ imcome, improve the quality of local scenery and environment.
According to Deputy Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, environment, green growth and tourism accompany each other.
Green tourism is a solution for sustainable tourism development with a set of 7-criteria, including tourism growth, tourism resource, destination management, tourism products and services, infrastructure, jobs, and community’s role.
Since mid-2020, based on 6 sets of sustainable tourism criteria from Swiss Sustainable Tourism Programme, Quang Nam Tourism Association has been making every effort to build information data, to do the market analysis, to create a brand identity with the message of Quang Nam- a green tourist attraction, to develop green products, to change communities’ awareness so that they can accompany the government to the objective of green destination management.
According to Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh, sustainable tourism, green tourism is the target of and also a solution for Quang Nam tourism.
It is the key for the provincial planning and strategies for local tourism development in the time to come.
