(QNO) - In 2015, Quang Nam province’s tourism reached a stable growth.
Impressive numbers
The province welcomed 3.86 million tourists in 2015, up 4.6% against the previous year with approximately 1.9 million foreign arrivals, a rise of 6.67%, and 1.96 domestic visitors, an increase of 2.56% compared with the year 2014. The total tourism revenue reached 2,570 billion VND, up 16% against 2014. Especially, the provincial key tourism centers brought many positive results with 2.1 million tourists in Hoi An city and 270,000 tourists in My Son Relics.

Besides, the tourism sector had many prominent activities such as: the programme of tourism connection between three regional localities Quang Nam province-Danang city- Thua Thien Hue province; taking part in the Viet Nam International Travel Mart- Ha Noi 2015, the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh city 2015, Tourism Expo Japan-2015; three localities’ common programmes to propagate tourism… In addition, Quang Nam province cooperated with such international organizations as International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Organisation for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), Foundation for International Development / Relief (FIDR) to develop the province’s sustainable tourism.
New Year’s prospects
According to Director of the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dinh Hai, the provincial tourism doesn’t depend on any markets but keeps the traditional markets such as Europe, North America, Northeast Asia stable. Although tourism still faces many difficulties and challenges or shortcomings, many prospects are open to Quang Nam tourism thanks to many cultural destinations consisting of Hoi An city, eastern Duy Xuyen…According to Vice Chairman of the Hoi An city People’s Committee Nguyen Van Son, the city will deploy many synchronous solutions to foster a comprehensive development of Hoi An tourism. The tourism space will be stretched outside the ancient town to the countryside such as An My or Cam Thanh with a variation of services as homestays, villas and resorts in An Bang beach, diversification of tourism products (e.g. pedestrian, water puppetry…)
In general, Quang Nam province will have many projects for tourism in 2016 such as urgent investment for tourism infrastructure in the period of 2016-2020; Managements and exploitations of beaches within two years 2016-2017, Training and Cultivating human resource for tourism in the 2016-2010 period…Hence, the province hopes to receive 4 billion tourists in 2016.
