(QNO) - The northern coastal economic corridor of Quang Nam, where the fields of industry, tourism, trade, and urban services are being developed, is expected to contribute to Quang Nam’s socio-economic growth.
Center for tourism and services
At the end of April 2016, the super-project Nam Hoi An Resort, which covers an area of 985.6 hectares, with a total investment capital of 4 billion USD, started construction of the first phase in Thang Binh district.
At the end of March 2017, Vingroup started construction of the Vinpearl Nam Hoi An resort and tourism complex in Thang Binh district. The project covers an area of 200 hectares and has an investment capital of about 5,000 billion VND.
These projects have become a highlight, changing the tourism picture in the eastern region of the province, especially in Duy Xuyen and Thang Binh districts, and starting a series of coastal investment projects from Dien Ban to Nui Thanh.
According to the master plan for Quang Nam, the Eastern Quang Nam region with the backbone of the coastal corridor will be a space for the development of industry, tourism, trade, services, and urban areas.
Until now, there have been 14 coastal tourism projects licensed in Hoi An city, covering an area of nearly 160 hectares, creating jobs, relieving pressure on the old town center, and contributing to the state budget.
Similarly, the coastal urban area, with more than 1,225 hectares in Dien Ban town, is the center of marine tourism and the development of physical training and sports activities at sea.
This coastal economic corridor will create a driving force for socio-economic development in Northern Quang Nam via culture, commerce, services, resort tourism, and traditional craft villages.
The Dien Nam - Dien Ngoc urban area with nearly 2,537 hectares is the urban administrative - cultural center, educational and training center, industrial park, and industrial clusters.
A driving force of the economic region
According to the master plan of Quang Nam province for the period 2021 - 2030 with a vision to 2050, completing the infrastructure system is one of the key tasks to create motivation and promote local socio-economic development.
Reducing pressure on Hoi An ancient town on the basis of developing urban space in the Eastern Dien Ban town and Duy Xuyen and Thang Binh districts will contribute to creating a driving force for the socio-economic development of Eastern Quang Nam in the near future.
Quang Nam has a coastline of 125km, which is considered to have an important role and position in developing all types of marine economies.
In recent years, the coastal transport infrastructure system and East-West local routes have been upgraded, contributing to awakening the potential of the coastal economic corridor.
Currently, in addition to focusing on effectively implementing the master plan for local socio-economic development and the plan of sectors related to the urban area, Dien Ban town focuses on important and essential projects, such as urban infrastructure development and promote linkages to develop industry, services, trade, and tourism in a diverse and modern direction.
