Promoting Quang Nam - Battambang friendly and cooperative relations

During his reception for the delegation from Battambang province led by Deputy Governor of Battambang, Socum Bunrith, on the morning of January 15, 2025, Chairman Dung said the Battambang delegation's visit created opportunities to promote the cooperation between the two localities in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Dung said, on the basis of the good neighborliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive, sustainable, and long-term cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, since the late 1980s, several officials and experts from Quang Nam province have been sent to help people in Battambang province, after that according to the working minutes signed in April 2013 between Quang Nam and Battambang.

The content focuses on promoting cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, trade, services, and tourism; strengthening support for agencies, businesses, and individuals to contact, discuss, seek cooperation opportunities, and learn from each other's experiences in the fields of investment, trade, and cooperation in socio-economics, culture, tourism, sports, and other fields.

For his part, Deputy Governor of Battambang, Socum Bunrith, expressed his impression of the development of Quang Nam, especially in tourism.

He said Battambang desired to exchange and learn experiences in the management and preservation of cultural heritage values, especially the ancient town of Hoi An (Quang Nam). He wished the friendly and cooperative relations between Quang Nam and Battambang would be promoted.

Deputy Governor Socum Bunrith also said he always remembers the significant contributions of Vietnam's volunteer soldiers and the support from Quang Nam leaders for Battambang province’s development.
