Cam Nam sticky corn craft recognized as a traditional craft of Quang Nam
(QNO) - The Cam Nam sticky corn craft was officially recognized as a traditional craft of Quang Nam province.
With this official recognition, the craft will receive support under Quang Nam’s rural craft and village industry policies for the 2023 -2025 period, ensuring its preservation and further development.
According to leaders of the Hoi An City People’s Committee, this recognition encourages local farmers to continue their traditional work while also promoting Cam Nam sticky corn to both domestic and international tourists.
Sticky corn has been a staple crop in Cam Nam for generations, flourishing in the fertile lands nourished by the lower Thu Bon river.
Since 2014, Hoi An city has hosted the Cam Nam sticky corn festival, a cultural and tourism event dedicated to preserving and promoting this traditional craft.
The festival not only honors the region’s agricultural heritage but also enhances the brand value of this specialty crop, drawing greater interest from tourists and businesses alike.
