Da Nang - Quang Nam photography gala and exhibition
(QNO) - On March 13, Da Nang and Quang Nam hosted a Photography Gala and Exhibition at APEC Park to mark the 72nd anniversary of Vietnamese Photography.

The event serves as a bridge, strengthening the bond between the artists from Da Nang and Quang Nam.

The event recreated a theatrical setting where performers from Nguyen Hien Dinh Theatre applied traditional Tuong (classical drama) masks live before photographers. Tuong masks are integral to this classical art, visually defining characters, emotions, and roles in performances. Their artistic significance has even led to academic research.

Poet Nguyen Nho Khiem, Chairman of the Da Nang Association of Literature and Arts, emphasised the deep connection between photography and Tuong masks, making this gala a special tribute.

As part of the 50th-anniversary celebrations of Quang Nam’s and Da Nang’s liberation and the reunification of Vietnam, 134 artistic photographs depicting the region’s landscapes, people, and culture were exhibited at APEC Park until March 18, 2025.

During the event, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) inducted new members and awarded honorary titles. As of March 2025, Da Nang’s photography association has 83 members, including 24 VAPA national members, while Quang Nam has 30 members, with 16 at the national level.

This event reinforced bonds among photographers, inspired future creativity, and celebrated the fusion of art and technology in modern photography.
Following are some other activities at the event.
