On March 7, 2025, the Government issued Resolution No. 44, granting a 45-day visa exemption to citizens of 12 countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
This applies to all passport types and entry purposes, provided legal requirements are met. The move aims to ease visa policies and boost tourism.
Earlier in 2025, Vietnam granted a unilateral visa exemption to citizens of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland from March 1 to December 31. These favourable policies are expected to boost international tourism, especially in Quang Nam.
With its rich heritage and prime location, Quang Nam attracts 50–60% international visitors, with Hoi An and My Son being top choices for travellers from Europe, North America, and Australia. Its cultural assets, well-developed infrastructure, and proximity to Da Nang and Chu Lai airports further boost tourism.
In 2024, Quang Nam received 8 million visitors, including 5.5 million international tourists, and aimed for 8.4 million in 2025. Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Van Ba Son sees Government Resolution No. 44 as a key driver, allowing longer stays and strengthening Quang Nam’s appeal, especially in traditional markets.
