"River mouth" tourism village
(QNO) - The Bay Mau coconut forest in Cam Thanh commune (Hoi An city, Quang Nam province), located at the lower Thu Bon River where the river meets the sea, has become an increasingly popular attraction for domestic and international tourists.

Cam Thanh coconut forest spanning over 80 hectares, preserves a mangrove-like wetland ecosystem, featuring islands and sandbars that protect the area. Towering palm trees line the waterways, forming a lush, green landscape all year round.
The surrounding area is also home to traditional craft villages specializing in palm frond house construction, fishing, offshore squid catching, shrimp and fish farming, and many other well-preserved cultural traditions. This presents a strong advantage for developing both ecotourism and community-based tourism.
Dr. Chu Manh Trung from the Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area Management Board emphasized ecotourism has the potential to significantly enhance the prominence of Cam Thanh.
As ecotourism requires conservation, and Cam Thanh is already preserving its ecosystem. It also requires community involvement, especially this approach will further support economic development in the future.
Local residents have transformed everyday rural elements including: rice fields, fishing boats, buffalo herds, and fish ponds into unique, immersive tourism experiences.
Tourism in Cam Thanh has developed rapidly, bringing vibrancy to the riverine landscape.
