High-tech industry: A boost for Southeast Quang Nam
(QNO) - Quang Nam province's industrial sector aims to innovate technology and develop high value-added industries through key centres in provincial planning.

Southeast Region – Quang Nam’s economic engine
Since 2021, Quang Nam has focused on transforming its Southeast region into a hub for urban centres, services, clean industries, and high-tech agriculture.
The industrial sector has seen strong growth, led by the Chu Lai-Truong Hai Automotive Mechanical Industrial Park (243ha) under Thaco Corporation.
The park hosts 50 projects, including 12 automotive assembly and 38 mechanical and supporting industry projects, with 80% occupancy and over 13,000 jobs.
Thaco has expanded globally, exporting to 19 countries and proposing a 115 ha expansion to attract more automotive, mechanical, and supporting industries. The Southeast region now contributes over 70% of Quang Nam’s total budget revenue.
Additionally, the Tam Thang Industrial Park has attracted key auto-supporting projects, including CTR Vina, Draexlmaier Automotive Vietnam, and Oriental Commerce Vina.
Enhancing technology content
Quang Nam currently has 14 approved industrial parks (IPs) covering 3,670ha.

Under the 2021 - 2030 provincial plan, with a vision to 2050, there will be new IPs in Dai Loc, Dien Ban, Thang Binh, Hiep Duc, Que Son, and Phu Ninh, expanding the total industrial land to 10,165.8ha.
By November 2024, Quang Nam’s IPs had attracted 258 projects with a total investment of VND 90.839 trillion (approximately USD 4 billion), including 166 domestic and 92 foreign projects, with an average occupancy rate of 59%.
For high-tech IPs, the province has designated 610ha for two such parks in the Southeast region. One of them is the Thang Binh High-Tech IP (310ha), which has received approval from the Provincial Planning Appraisal Council.
