4 more national treasures in Quang Nam
(QNO) - The Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism reports that four artefacts and collections of artefacts from the province have just been recognised as national treasures.

Among the 33 artefacts and collections of the recent national treasure recognition, Quang Nam contributed four exceptional items, including a collection of gold jewellery, an animal-shaped agate artefact collection, a Dong Son bronze drum, and a Dong Son bronze jar.
These unique artefacts have significant historical and cultural value, further highlighting Quang Nam's rich heritage.

The collections of gold jewellery and animal-shaped agate artefacts were discovered during archaeological excavations at the Lai Nghi burial site (Dien Ban) between 2002 and 2004. They are preserved at the Quang Nam Museum.
The Dong Son bronze drum and bronze jar are owned by Luong Hoang Long, living in Cam Pho (Hoi An). They are dated to the Dong Son culture, from the 4th-3rd century BCE to the 1st-2nd century CE.
These artefacts are extremely valuable for researching the Dong Son culture, offering their insights into the ancient Vietnamese economy, society, and spiritual life.
They showcase exceptional craftsmanship and advanced metallurgy, highlighting the highly developed bronze-working skills of Dong Son inhabitants, comparable to the finest in Southeast Asia.
Among the other newly recognised national treasures are three artefacts housed at the Museum of Cham Sculpture in Danang city.
