Unlocking the tourism potential of Nam Tra My
(QNO) - A seminar on investment attraction and sustainable tourism development in Nam Tra My has recently taken place.
Nam Tra My has reportedly introduced policies to boost tourism, prioritising infrastructure development to support ecotourism, resort-orientated tourism, and community-based tourism in the Ngoc Linh ginseng area.
Attractions include historical sites, eco-tourism spots such as the Five-tier waterfall, Doi stream, cultural villages, hot springs, and Tak Ngo Ginseng Garden.
To unlock its tourism potential, clear guidance and capacity-building for local communities and ethnic minorities are essential to preserve and share cultural values sustainably.
At the seminar, Pham Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Institute for Agricultural Economics and Tourism, proposed a local management model and cooperatives to develop agricultural tours around Ngoc Linh ginseng and local culture.
He emphasised sustainable strategies, including cultivation processes, regional branding, stakeholder collaboration, and government-backed marketing and connectivity.
The seminar also stressed combining agricultural tourism with on-site experiences to showcase Nam Tra My's strengths and highlight Ngoc Linh ginseng values.
Experts stressed preserving local culture and engaging ethnic communities in unique tourism products, supported by investment, training, and development policies. Quang Nam Deputy Chairman Ho Quang Buu praised Nam Tra My's sustainable tourism efforts tied to Ngoc Linh ginseng.
Ho Quang Buu urged Nam Tra My to develop unique tourism products, including Ngoc Linh ginseng farm tours, nature reserves, and cultural experiences, to build a distinctive brand and attract international visitors.
