Viet Nam reports sharp decline in cyberattacks
VGP - There were 4,483 cyberattacks in Viet Nam over the first 10 months of this year, a year-on-year decrease of 57 percent.
Cyberattacks targeting information systems in Viet Nam fell by 18.4 percent in October and 79.8 percent in January-October period, according to the Authority of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Viet Nam continues to be among the countries with the highest overall cybersecurity index score in the fifth Global Cybersecurity Index, which was released by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in recent September.
Specifically, Viet Nam is one of 46 countries ranked in Tier 1 on the ITU Global Cybersecurity Index, with a total score of 99.74.
Participating countries are classified into five-tier groups, of which Tier 1 is the highest group with a score of 95-100, including 46 countries that play a 'model' role.
The ITU reported that Tier 1 countries have all made significant progress compared to the last index released in 2021./.
