"Incense and local products of Hoi An, Quang Nam" book
(QNO) - The Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation will publish the book "Incense and local products of Hoi An, Quang Nam".
With its favorable soil and climate, Quang Nam is known for its rich natural resources, including valuable spices and local specialties, as mentioned by scholar Le Quy Don in "Phu bien tap luc".
The region's abundance, combined with the Nguyen lords' open trade policies, helped Hoi An flourish as a major international trading port in the medieval era.
To highlight the role of Hoi An and Quang Nam's products in international trade, the Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management will publish a book titled "Incense and local products of Hoi An, Quang Nam".
The book will explore the historical significance and preservation of these products.
The publication will be part of activities celebrating Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day and the 25th anniversary of Hoi An’s recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The book is expected to be introduced on the occasion of the opening of the Museum of Incense and Local Products of Hoi An, Quang Nam at the end of November 2024.
