Quang Nam’s investment promotion in Nagasaki
(QNO) - On the afternoon of October 9th, the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee (PPC) had an investment promotion in Nagasaki, Japan, with the participation of dozens of local and neighbouring businesses.
Quang Nam considers Japan as a key strategic partner. The investment promotion in Nagasaki aimed to share information and opportunities with potential investors.
According to Phan Thai Binh, Deputy Chairman of Quang Nam PPC, Japan ranks third with 18 active FDI projects in Quang Nam.
The Japanese projects focus on manufacturing, garment production, and tourism services, with a total investment of over USD 139 million. These investments have been highly effective, contributing to local industrial and service development, job creation, and economic growth in Quang Nam.
At the investment promotion, Phan Thai Binh talked about Quang Nam's strategic location on the East-West Economic Corridor and its development plans approved by the Prime Minister.
The province has comprehensive transport infrastructure, including upgrades to Chu Lai airport and seaport, railways, national highways, and motorways.
In addition, Quang Nam offered Nagasaki businesses a roster of 180 investment prospects and more than 50 high-priority projects, complete with comprehensive details and pledges of investor assistance.
Deep-processing industries, high-tech agriculture, and pharmaceuticals are among the priority investment areas.
The province also plans to build over 10 high-tech agricultural zones and a national pharmaceutical centre with Ngoc Linh ginseng as a key product.
Earlier, Phan Thai Binh and the Quang Nam delegation, along with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, visited Nagasaki Governor OISHI Kengo and local leaders. He conveyed greetings and an invitation to Quang Nam from Quang Nam PPC Chairman Le Van Dung to Nagasaki Governor and officials.
