Hoi An to join UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities
(QNO) - The People's Committee of Hoi An has recently launched a plan to join the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities. The city aims to meet the criteria for the "Learning City" title by 2025 and become a member of the network managed by UNESCO.
To implement the plan, the city has established a roadmap for surveying and assessing the current status based on the standards, criteria, and indicators outlined in UNESCO's learning city framework. At the same time, it will implement the necessary content after becoming a member of the network.
After joining the global network of learning cities, Hoi An will establish a steering committee for building a learning city, raise awareness among agencies and organizations in the political system and the public about the purpose and significance of creating a learning city, and develop a plan and roadmap aligned with Hoi An’s criteria.
The city will allocate an annual budget to implement the planned activities and also mobilize contributions from organizations and individuals to effectively meet the learning city criteria.
